Informatics Technical Specialist I (Southwest Region)

• Responsible for end-to-end implementation, testing, and training of Abbott Digital applications
• Apply technical IT and networking knowledge to analyze user needs, gather customer requirements, and design integrated, scalable informatics solutions
• Serve as an informatics applications expert for junior team members
• Develop mastery of Abbott processes and lead by example across the Area delivery organization
• Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system
• Adhere to and promote the Abbott Code of Business Conduct

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Medical or Hospital Informatics, or a related field
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in the healthcare industry, or 4 years of relevant IT experience outside healthcare
• Technical Knowledge of virtual servers, antivirus software, backup systems, firewalls, and VPNs
• Strong understanding of networking, servers, desktops, internet protocols, and remote access
• Skilled in Microsoft Windows Server (NT/2000/XP/2003)
• Health and laboratory experience: Education or experience in medical technology or clinical lab science
• ASCP or CLS (NCA) certification preferred
• Familiar with lab workflows and operations
• Experience as a medical technologist is ideal, but other lab experience is acceptable
